LA Climate Week Returns 🌴
From upcycled crafts to zero-waste cocktails to carbon neutral comedy, LA’s second-ever Climate Week is here to have a good time.
These gatherings aren't just about networking with other climate people, they're about cranking the climate convo to eleven across media, tech, fashion, food, and community. It’s where optimism meets action, ideas get composted into collaborations, and resilience sprouts right here in our local communities.
And because nothing kills the vibe (or the planet) like gridlock 🚗🚗🚗, our suggestions are planted 🪴 in a certain part of the city each day to help trim back on transportation (and the misery of sitting in traffic).

Getting Around Town 🚌 🚃 🚗
Unfortunately, LA isn’t known for its public transportation – but that doesn’t mean it can’t come in handy if you’re visiting the city without a car. Are you staying downtown and commuting to the westside? How about getting to Hollywood during rush hour? Check out these transit maps and schedules to see if you can save on some Uber/Lyft rides commuting across the city.
Speaking of Uber and Lyft, now might be a good time for a reminder that each of those apps have sustainable ride options in LA (Uber Green, and Lyft’s Green Mode). Also, Waymo cars are picking up steam on LA roadways, and are fully electric!
Our best advice? Check out the map view of Luma’s climate week calendar, and do your best to center your days around particular parts of the city. Bonus points if your networking leads to a carpool ride!
📅 A Few More Community Announcements 🫂🌱🏟️
🎥 Attention Film Lovers: On Wednesday, April 16th, we’re teaming up with our friends at Carbonauts to host a free screening of the film, Mrs. Robinson. TFrom Ireland's first female President to the climate's staunchest defender, the story of #MaryRobinson and her fight for climate action is the inspiration we need right now to kickstart climate action. Watch the film's trailer here.
📅 Date: Wednesday, April 16
⏰ Time: 4PM PT/7PM ET
📍 Where: Virtual via Kinema + Carbonauts Film Club for post screening conversation
Huge thanks to Project Dandelion for making this screening possible!
