Radiator Labs: Decarbonizing the World's Legacy Buildings

Did you know that 75% of all of the buildings in New York City are heated with steam radiators? Many of these systems have been operational for a 100 years - so it’s no wonder that they waste up to ⅓ of the energy each one emits. It’s an inefficient process in need of a serious upgrade.

Enter Radiator Labs founder Marshall Cox - he built a solution. With the company’s insulating radiator enclosure product, they can stabilize the temperature of living spaces and save on energy costs - all while decreasing CO2 output.

Next week we take a look at Dandelion Energy, a geothermal heating and cooling company that is helping homes transition to cleaner, more affordable energy. Founded by Kathy Hannun who spun the idea out of Google X, we go on-site as they install geothermal at someone's home.

With roughly 20% of U.S. energy-related greenhouse gas emissions coming from controlling temperatures in households, we’d be dande-lyin’ if we said geothermal energy doesn’t sound great to us. And for those of you too embarrassed to ask your friends what geothermal is, tune in for some knowledge!
