Compound Foods is using biotechnology to create coffee without the beans to preserve valuable resources like land and water.

Sneak Pique

Meat production accounts for roughly 10% of our global carbon footprint. Next week we take a look at Tender Food, a company using technology to make meat - without any animals. 

Beef production is incredibly unsustainable, accounting for 60% of all the agricultural land on our planet but only 2% of the calories. Tender Food’s products can address both climate and the unethical production processes of the meat industry.

Don’t Mine If I Do!

Abandoned coal mines in Virginia are being turned into solar installations that will be large enough to add renewable energy to the grid. These six old mining sites are owned by The Nature Conservancy and will be some of the first large-scale solar farms in the region. 

Solar energy systems built on a utility-scale like this one can help us reduce our collective dependence on fossil fuel and replace it with a clean source of energy!
