Remora: Carbon Capture for Semi-Trucks

Remora is on a mission to drive carbon capture into the future.

With the 2 million semi-trucks in the U.S. contributing to nearly 5% of the country’s emissions, Remora CEO and Founder Paul Gross wondered if he couldn’t redefine just how much these transportation emissions suck - suck up carbon, that is.

The company’s revolutionary device mounts onto semi-trucks between the tractor and its trailer. By taking in at least 80% of its carbon emissions, the device can capture over 135 metric tons of CO2 per year. That’s equivalent to planting 6,200 trees!

Remora’s device has a minimal impact on payload compared to what a battery would be and offers fleet operators a low-cost approach to decarbonize immediately.

Next week we hear from the innovative team at Formo about their work in combining science and food technology to create a more sustainable, ethical, and healthy food industry. It’s an idea so gouda, it’ll blow your mind. Seriously, it’s grate.

Sorry, too cheesy? Check out the full, pun-free video on Formo’s industry-disrupting biotech next week.

Ecosia: Can Food Save the World?

Can regenerative agriculture be a driving force for climate resolution? Small-scale farming and regenerative agriculture practices have the potential to help increase food security while mitigating climate change. Check out part 1 of the series here.

Every week we share recommendations from readers about climate films and documentaries to watch. This week’s rec comes from Alexia Melendez Martineau.
