CLIMATE WEEK!

Climate Week NYC 2022 runs from September 19 - 25 and is marking its fourteenth year as one of the the biggest global climate events of its kind. I’m talking about some of the most influential leaders from business and government coming together to drive climate action. Fast.

Hosted in part by the Climate Group, there are over 500 events throughout New York City and virtually in the next seven days.

Can’t make it? (Or just don’t feel like getting off the couch?) No problem. 1. G20 Global Action on Renewables – G20 countries consume over 80% of the world’s energy. Clearly, they have a responsibility to lead the charge on renewables - but it is still a struggle to obtain renewables in many of these countries. This roundtable will launch findings from a new briefing on the status of the renewable energy transition in G20 countries.

1. Putting Equity Back into Our Economy: Making the Green Economy Work for Everyone – Justice, equity, and an inclusive economy won’t be delivered by one bill or by a few projects. It can’t just be the priority of one state. So, what needs to happen next?

And how can we deliver short-term solutions to addressing the current crises without turning on the taps for fossil fuels and undermining our long-term goals?
